WORK HISTORY
2002 to present - began a small home-based company providing extruded decorative concrete landscape curbing.
11/2006 to Three month contract - Engineering Writer for a Southern Company subcontractor
1/2007 to develop procedures required for the startup, calibration and operation of systems and instrumentation associated new process equipment
1995 to 2002 - Direct position - Senior Information Developer for Lucent Technologies fiber optic manufacturing facility in Norcross, GA. Responsible for developing hard copy and intranet documentation to support new manufacturing lines and processes at the facility.
1994 to 1995 - 18 month contract position - Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Writer for South Texas Project Nuclear Plant in Bay City, TX. The assignment was development of a master power plant I&C database for electronic generation of calibration data sheets for each of the 5000+ instrument assets at the facility.
1990 to 1994 - Open contract position - Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Writer for Surry Nuclear Power Station in Surry, VA. Responsible for performing a major re-write of existing plant documentation (Procedure Upgrade Program) to conform with new federal regulatory requirements. The assignment included performance of CSA (Channel Statistical Analysis) calculations for the Reactor Protection and Engineered Safeguards systems.
1986 to 1990 - Open contract position - Technical editor for the Technical Support Group for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station near Toledo, OH.
1983 to 1986 - Open contract position - Nuclear Technical Support Technician for field calibrations and testing during startup of the Palo Verde Nuclear Station near Phoenix, AZ.
1980 to 1983 - Direct position - I&C Technician for I&C technical support throughout the Crystal River Nuclear Power Station near Crystal River, FL.
1974 to 1980 - Enlistment, US NAVY - After graduating the two year academic assignments of advanced electronics, followed by the US Navy Nuclear Power Training Program, I was assigned to the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Nimitz where I achieved the positions of Senior Reactor Operator/Reactor Technician. Honorable Discharge.
