Description: This is a Schedule of Rates type contract which initially ran
for 2 years and was rolled over for 2 more in June 2009. The projects are
handed out to the 6 contractors on the panel. Diona had a larger portion
of the work due to the company’s professionalism and ability to provide a
high quality final product on time and with a good safety & environmental
performance.
Responsibilities:
• Pre-Works Site Meeting and Measure, Estimation, Programming
• Crew Planning & Resourcing, Materials procurement.
• Managing 7 Diona Crew’s/Gang’s carrying out excavation, laying of
electrical conduit & hauling of 11kV & LV cables.
• Managing 3 subcontractor Crew’s/Gang’s carrying out excavation,
laying of electrical conduit & hauling of 11kV & LV cables.
• Coordination of commissioning with client cut out dates, and jointers.
• Community Consultation, complaint resolution(this project generated
many enquiries from the public, as the Client - the only electricity
provider in Sydney, left it up to us to do the notification of the works)
• Liaising with Government organisations and roads authorities for
approvals etc.
• Delegation of various Safety, Environmental & Quality control,
inspection & documentation processes to 3 Site Engineers, Plant

Responsibilities:
• Working closely with the electrical and civil engineers, I was
responsible for the as built drawings and associated works.
• Drawing layouts for the site, roads, cable trenches & electrical
conduits, jointing bays, detailing of foundations & all support structures
including the main gantries and transformer bunds.
• Other work involved some architectural drafting for the control room
building, and producing drawings for the consulting structural
engineers showing the gantry anchor locations so that a detailed
structural analysis could be performed on the gantries.
