CAREER OVERVIEW
· A more than 20 year background characterized by steady progress from hands-on work as a finish carpenter to that involved in day-to-day on-site supervision of multi-million dollar projects.

EXPERIENCE
Superintendant, Ideal Builders, INC. -- Madison, WI; 2009 - 2010
· Organized/scheduled tasks, subcontractors, and materials on major projects.
· Served as a key link between working crews, developers and architects.
· Oversaw both commercial and residential projects from laying footings to final owner walk-throughs and punch lists.
· Performed safety, promotion, training, and inspection and assured compliance with all OSHA and company guidelines.
· Did all coordinating and follow-up to effectively execute change orders.
· Directly oversaw crews of up to 25 skilled workers.
· Also, participated in restoration work at the Kestrel Ridge golf Club needed after a damaging flood. Extensive repairs were made to the bar, pro-shop, and other clubhouse facilities.
Notable Project:
Superintendant for the building of a 10,000 sq. foot, $1.5 million summer residence for the Flesch family. Also was superintendant for various commercial and industrials remodels.
Carpenter Foreman, KBS Construction, Co. -- McFarland WI; 2003 - 2009
· Interpreted specifications, blueprints and job orders to assign tasks and evaluate their outcomes.
· Maintained schedules for projects, materials, and workers similar to that immediately above.
· Implemented and suggested improvements to company work procedures and safety standards.
· As above, emphasized management and quality assurance of finish carpentry for cabinets, doors, and trim in condominium units.
· Directly oversaw a work force of up to 60 people on projects and with all subcontractors involved, as many as 500 workers.
Notable Project:
Supervised the renovation and conversion of the Loraine Building to make it a condominium structure. Work involved completely new internal walls and interiors, reinforced support beams, and completion of two additional stories. Also, was Foreman on both phases one and two of the Metropolitan Place project. Work ranged from time keeping and materials scheduling to walk-through inspections and punch list corrections. All 559 units were planned and completed in this $90,000,000 project.

Carpenter- Trim, J.P. Cullen & Sons -- Janesville WI; Feb. - Sept. 2003
· Used hand and power tools to shape and join structures of lumber, plywood, and drywall.
· Installed hard surfaces, trim, cabinets, doors, and related hardware.
Notable Project:
Did extensive finish work on the Evansville High School auditorium, including wood panels, oak trim and solid surface installation.
General Foreman, A.P.L.S. Construction Co. -- Deforest, WI; 2000 - 2002
· Assisted with analyzing tasks and estimating time and materials to develop and implement work plans and schedules.
· Interfaced with multiple trades ranging from architects to plumbers, electricians, and cement finishers.
· Informally collaborated with other subcontractors to follow-up on, evaluate and modify these plans and schedules.
Notable Project:
Participated in supervising the building of a new $5,000,000 library facility for the Village of Deforest. Work included placing studs, rough framing, drywall, and roofing as well as all finishing. Again, interfaced with architects and other subs along with the general contractor.
Site Forman, Arena Construction Co. -- Chicago Ill.; 1997 - 2000
· Worked from this national contractor with Starbucks Coffee Houses.
· Made major modifications to existing buildings to fit the nation-wide Starbucks look and during a three year period, helped perform work in four Midwestern states at thirteen different locations.
EARLIER WORK SUMMARIZED
After military service, worked as a skilled or lead carpenter with four different companies. Did much work on high-end homes worth up to 1.5 million dollars. Engaged in all phases of carpentry. Of particular note was my involvement in constructing log homes ranging from small summer cottages to elaborate high-end permanent homes. Values fell between $50,000 and $750,000. These earlier employers were Norwood Custom Homes, Homestead Builder, Back Forty Log Homes, and prestige dry-wallers.
MILITARY SERVICE
Served from 1981 to 1987 and was honorably discharged with the rating of Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (E-4). Repaired or replaced engines and all other drive-train components on various types of heavy vehicles. Served overseas in Germany and Korea, as well as at several bases within the US.
