Working in conjunction with NY Blood Services I facilitated the construction of the 1st Cord blood retrieval lab (for stem cell research) at North Shore.
While working on a Joint commission inspection I came upon fire proofing violations that existed in our land closets. The fiber cables were penetrating floors from the ground level through to the 4th floor and the bundles were too large in diameter to seal with known fire proofing systems. I called Hilti in and worked with the engineers to achieve a UL fire rated system which was then added to the national fireproofing manual for Hilti.
Designed, fabricated, and installed an adjustable hanging system for the Radiation Oncology Dept. (still in use) The system is used to support sheets of lexan used to refract the radiation beams in the treatment of cancer.
