2007-2010 Tishman Construction, Las Vegas, Nevada
Superintendent
Served as Senior Superintendent on the ARIA Hotel at City Center overseeing the “Super Suite” penthouse units. Utilizing a staff of three superintendents and twelve to twenty-five laborers, I have been tasked with the fit-out through fine finishes and turnover of eighteen ultra high-end suites designed by BBGM and PMA. Tishman is currently serving as Executive Construction Manager on City Center, the joint venture between MGM MIRAGE and Dubai World, overseeing the construction of the $9-billion, 18-million-square-foot mega-development situated on 67 acres in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. This is the largest commercial development in progress in the United States, and it includes a 650-foot-tall, 4,000-room centerpiece hotel and casino as well as six additional buildings that will house 2,343 additional hotel rooms, 911 private residences, 500,000 square feet of dining, entertainment and retail shops, as well as a dedicated electrical substation and independent central plant that will service the entire project. Tishman leveraged the buying power of the development by creating umbrella agreements that allowed local subcontractors to purchase materials directly from manufacturers around the globe at pre-approved point-of-purchase prices. MGM MIRAGE is also pursuing LEED® certification at City Center. At the height of construction, over 7,000 workers will be on-site using certified ecologically friendly wood, low emitting materials and construction equipment. Echelon, Las Vegas, NV: I served as Tower Fit-out Superintendent for a $4.8 billion development. The project will combine the wholly owned Echelon Resort with hotel and retail strategic partners (Morgan’s Hotel Group and Shangri-La) and will house the Las Vegas Expo Center. The 63-acre site is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Echelon will encompass four distinctive hotels featuring 5,300 guest rooms and suites, the 300-room Echelon Resort, encompassing two upscale hotels; a 2,600-room resort tower; and a 700-room suite tower, each containing its own luxurious spa. Both Echelon hotels will connect directly to extensive public areas containing a 140,000 SF casino, 25 restaurants and bars, and lushly landscaped pool and garden areas. Echelon will also have a 4,000-seat theater with a large stage and stadium seating; a more intimate 1,500-seat theater will house smaller shows and touring acts; and the Las Vegas Expo Center. The Expo Center will include 650,000 SF of exhibition and pre-function space and 175,000 SF of meeting/conference space with 200 meeting rooms. Echelon began the Construction phase in June 2006 and it is set to be complete October 2010.
