Have progressively taken on greater responsibility over a three-year period by assisting senior level structural, materials, building science, and geotechnical consulting engineers. Project experience gained to date includes: building condition assessments, building restoration, new construction inspection, facility audits, physical load testing, and durability capital planning. This experience has resulted in exposure to the following construction markets over this period: Heavy Civil, Healthcare, Institutional, Education, Hotel/Multi-Unit Residential, and Industrial.
Engineering and Contract Administration Personally conducted condition surveys and physical load testing of various multi-unit residential buildings cladding elements, railing assemblies, and structural systems. Condition surveys and load testing was conducted in order to document the current condition of these elements, as well as to evaluate compliance with relevant building codes. Next steps include participating in the design of effective repair strategies, preparation of contract documents for tender, and helping administer the contract during restoration repairs. Notable projects include a $500,000 brick restoration program at a 5 story residential apartment building in Chatham, Ontario, as well as a $250,000 Balcony repair/replacement program at a 10 story Windsor Apartment Building.
New Construction Inspection Provided on site construction inspection of various building components including roofing, air/vapour barrier, curtain/window wall, waterproofing, cladding, fireproofing, and fire stopping. On site inspections consist of installation review for compliance with the project documents as well as generally accepted industry standards. Some major projects include: Hotel expansion at Caesars Windsor (July 2007 to May 2008), University of Windsor Medical Building (July 2008 to January 2009), and University of Windsor – Centre for Engineering Innovation (April 2010 – Present).
Facility Audits Conducted numerous facility audits for the purposes of condominium capital planning, pre-purchase, pre-construction, and refinancing. Facility audits consist of an onsite specialist review of various building systems and components in order to attempt to forecast capital expenditures over the next 10, 20 or even 30 years.
Interpersonal Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills resulting from verbal interaction with clients and the preparation of written proposals and reports.
Technical Skills Fluent in many relevant computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel and Power Point. Also knowledgeable using AutoCAD Software.
