SUMMARY
Designed and developed One-Line and Three-Line Diagrams, including Metering & Relaying Drawings. Performed ct sizing calculations, transformer sizing for motor loads, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, and cable and conduit sizing. Developed new, and modified existing breaker control schematics to conform to the required tripping logic. Developed electrical control schematics based on logic diagrams and vendor drawings. Performed lighting calculations and design. Provided technical guidance and assistance to junior engineers.

Enercon – Oakland, CA (June, 2009 – Present)
Performed checking of Functional Loop Drawings, Instrument Schematics, and associated Diagram of Connection Drawings to verify proper polarity connections between various instruments and cables for the Diablo Canyon Power Plant. Prepared routing of cables and updated cable schedule for the Columbia Northwest Energy Main Control Room per modification to the Power Range Neutron Monitoring System. Brought the (Enercon) electrical group up-to-speed in understanding the GE cabling system (SITS/FITS) for the Main Control Room. Utilized EDISON cable/raceways program.
Worley Parsons – Martinez, CA (Jan., 2007 – June, 2009)
Served as Lead Engineer in development of Protection Relaying & Control Schemes for the Petrobras (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – PetroChemical) Project. Developed electrical control schematics for pump motor controls based on P&IDs and available logic diagrams for the THUMS Refinery (Long Beach). Designed manhole conduit arrangement and development. Prepared electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis. Addressed RFIs (Request for Information) from field and prepared DCNs (Design Change Notices) as a Resident Electrical Engineer at the Chevron Richmond Refinery.
VEGA Engineering/OCAMPO-ESTA Corporation – San Francisco/Vallejo, CA (Feb., ‘05 – Jan., ’07)
Developed Single Lines, Meter & Relay Diagrams and Breaker Control Schematics for PG&E Substation projects per utility standards. Responded to client inquiries regarding design clarifications. Performed cable and conduit sizing, short circuit calculations, and electrical load balancing for electrical design of commercial and industrial establishments. Prepared power plan drawings, equipment demolition drawings, lighting drawings and calculations, and panel board schedules.
RCS Corporation – Las Vegas, NV (Sept., 2003 – August, 2004) As a Lead Engineer, responsible for developing Medium Voltage and Low voltage single lines, and metering & relaying diagrams for Yucca Mountain Project (Monitored Geological Repository). Performed relay, current transformer and voltage transformer evaluations for utilization in the system design. Developed detailed metering and protective relaying drawings for the project.
Bechtel National, Inc. – Richland, WA (July 30, 2001 – Sept., 2003)
As a Lead Engineer, responsible for developing Medium Voltage Single Lines, and Metering & Relaying diagrams for the Balance of Facility group of the Waste Treatment Plant/River Protection Project. Performed evaluation of protection relays, ct’s & pt’s, etc., for proper application to the system design. Provided technical guidance to junior engineers in the development and completion of switchgear breaker control schematics.
Parsons Brinckerhoff Power, Inc. - San Francisco, CA (June, 2000 – May, 2001)
Developed electrical control schematic for the lighting control of the new San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge providing manual and automatic switching (utilizing photo-control switches), and manual override switching. Prepared wiring and connection diagrams for the lighting control of different sections of the bridge.
K. F. Davis Engineering, Inc. – Danville, CA (Aug., 1999 – June, 2000)
Designed 3-D view of facilities showing the location of the critical electrical equipment in relation with each other. Developed single line and electrical layout drawings for the as-built condition and the proposed modification. Prepared new lighting layout and power plan for the proposed facilities. Projects of involvement include Travis Air Force Base (Fairfield, CA), Beale Air Force Base, (Marysville, CA), Camp Parks (Dublin, CA), and Presidio of Monterey (Monterey, CA).
DUKE Engineering & Services, Inc. - San Ramon, CA (Mar., 1995 – May, 1999)
Conducted system and inventory survey in various Coca-Cola Plant locations (Cidra, Puerto Rico; Bridgetown, Barbados; Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago; & Leesburg, Florida) as part of the company’s effort to comply with the Y2K requirements necessary to maintain operation in the next millennium. Prepared design change modifications to provide adequate back-up protection for containment electrical penetrations per requirement of NRC Regulatory Guide 1.63 for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Other project involvement includes Clinton Power Station, Wolf Creek Nuclear Station (Burlington, KS), and PG&E Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant (San Luis Obispo, CA).
BECHTEL Power Corporation – San Francisco, CA (Aug., 1973 – Feb., 1995)
Developed control schematic diagrams based on logic diagrams and vendor drawings for various Nuclear Steam Supply Systems of Susquehanna Steam & Electric Station (Bell Bend, PA). Served as a resident field engineer supervising electricians in completing design modifications. Designed access control detection system as an upgrade to the existing Plant Security System, and reviewed start-up test procedures and test results of various plant systems for Limerick Generating Station (Pottstown, PA). Other major project involvement includes PG&E’s Diablo Canyon (Nuclear) Power Plant (San Luis Obispo, CA), and Humboldt Bay Power Plant (Humboldt, CA), Comanche Peak Electric Station (Glen Rose, TX), Hope Creek Generating Station (Salem, NJ), Rancho Seco Generating Station (Sacramento, CA), and San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (San Onofre, CA), TVA Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (Athens, AL), and the Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) in Savannah River Site Project (Aiken, SC).
