URS Corporation – Senior Architectural Systems PM
Dates: 02/08 to present – Washington D.C.
Mr. Gomez has over 18 years of combined professional experience and currently collaborates with URS Corporation. He provides support to the National Technical Review (NTR) team as an A/E reviewer for HMGP, FMA, PDM, RFC and SRL grant programs. Currently, Mr. Gomez collaborates with the Department of Homeland Security Infrastructure Protection (IP) team and significantly contributes to the practice of emergency response business development efforts for URS. He serves as a Senior Architectural Systems PM, an architectural systems analyst, report integrator and assault planner for the IP team. Mr. Gomez conducts risk vulnerability assessments and writes resiliency reports on critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) throughout the USA.
Project Time & Cost – Architectural Systems Project Specialist
Dates: 09/05 through 02/08 – Baton Rouge, LA.
Under PTC, Mr. Gomez managed Public Assistance (PA) recovery efforts for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita under FEMA (DR-1603 and DR-1607). He was responsible for providing overall emergency response leadership related to property damage assessment, risk management and project management tasks. Mr. Gomez assessed $350 Million in damages to building infrastructure systems owned by the City of New Orleans, the University of New Orleans and the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office (OPSCO) among other Critical Infrastructure Key Resources. Business development efforts include government facilities, transportation systems, airports, marine ports, bridges, energy infrastructure including electrical, petroleum & natural gas, water and wastewater systems, telecommunication systems, IT, and physical security.
SCOTIA BANK – Director of Real Estate Operations
Dates: 05/00 through 09/05 – Toronto, Canada/San Juan, PR
As Director of Real Estate Operations, Mr. Gomez was responsible for the upkeep and management of all Scotia Bank facilities throughout the Caribbean. He managed business development efforts for existing bank operations and facilities and made recommendations for Leasehold Improvements. Duties included site selection, lease negotiations and tenant improvements with property Landlord’s for over 25 sites throughout the Island of Puerto Rico. Mr. Gomez managed the bank’s property operations, analyzed construction cost saving strategies, and developed overall real estate loss prevention methods to support the bank’s risk management efforts. Responsibilities included the procurement of all A/E and construction services and acted as the owner’ representative on all Real Estate Operations. He coordinated the bank’s A/E, MEP related tasks including SME, transportation systems and environmental systems.
PHOENIX PROPERTIES - Director of Architectural Development
Dates: 3/96 through 05/00 Murfreesboro, TN.
Mr. Gomez directed and managed the Real Estate portfolio for Phoenix Properties P.R. with a multimillion dollar net worth ($250M+). He was responsible for all phases of business development efforts including Feasibility Studies, Financial modeling, Project Pro-forma, Joint Ventures, reviewing and updating budgets, bid packages, site selection and acquisition data, preliminary design and presentations to Government agencies for approvals. He also coordinated multiple departments and consultants including MEP and civil-structural teams to acquire permits of transportation, commercial, industrial and residential projects throughout the US, & U.S. Virgin Islands, P.R., DR., and BVI. Project types included mix-use commercial facilities, luxury hotels, upscale residential projects, and high end retail shops. Duties included: directing and coordinating all real estate operations for the design, construction, leasing and management of the facilities. Clients served included: Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Pueblo Supermarket, Advance Auto, Marshall’s, TJ Max, Burger King, Subway and McDonalds’ to name a few.
TSKP ARCHITECTS – Architectural Project Manager
Dates: 3/91 through 03/96 – Hartford, CT.
Responsible for all phases of Architectural PM activities including, design development, A/E, construction documents, owner representation and contract negotiation of diverse type multimillion dollar projects. Expertise with higher education projects, transportation systems including the Seoul Express and other facilities with construction budgets of $150,000 to $280 Million. Clients include Federal and State Government, Corporate and the Private sector throughout U.S.A., Asia and Europe. Daily responsibilities include defining the scope of project, interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating project assignments, visual inspection of construction processes, photographic & written reports, coordination & scheduling of builders and subcontractors, preparation of payment certifications, and running weekly meetings with engineers, clients and contractors to ensure progress and timely project completion. Greg has knowledge of National and International building codes and industry regulations.
