RESULT-ORIENTED & EXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Allow me to use this letter to introduce myself to you. My name is Michael T. Staton and I have just finished working as a Project Manager at Turner Construction in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been with this company for the last eight years, specializing in the management of Healthcare and Laboratory construction in the Southeast United States.
Very early in my construction career, I noticed that there are two types of Construction Managers: the kind that get results under ideal conditions, and the kind that gets results under any condition. I made a decision to be the latter. To be the preferred and desired construction manager that is capable and experienced at bring projects out of the fire. I have been place repeatedly in situations where the projects are at risk and I enjoy the challenge these project bring. The lessons I have learned to obtain results that surpass the client’s expectations is actually quite simple: Communication, Planning, and Execution.
As a result, I have made these three actions my guidelines for each of my projects. Complete and clear communication with the owner, architect, and subcontractors are imperative of what needs to be accomplished, what the current status is, and what information is required to make a decision. The next step is to plan, unlike many Construction Managers that just act. I’ve learned that thorough planning not only saves time and money, but also builds a cohesive environment between the project team. Lastly, I make it a point to execute the plan as efficiently and completely as possible, providing all participants with the resources they need to complete their duties, then holding them responsible.
As my resume shows, I have comprehensive work experience on large and difficult projects. I believe that my experience as a Project Manager / Superintendent who has taken the lead of some of Turner’s more extensive projects proves that I can excel at meeting any challenge. Now let us look forward to how I can bring these skills to your company and what we can accomplish together. Please give me a call to set up a time that we may speak further.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of my candidacy. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Michael T. Staton
