To Whom It May Concern:
Will you please review my qualifications for a position with your company? My work experience, education, and attitude qualify me for employment with your company.
My work experience in the construction industry has taught me many different aspects of the construction process. For the past seven years I have worked in the construction management field holding positions from Project engineer to lead superintendent. During my time as a project engineer I learned to read and interpret plans and specifications, performed material quantity takeoffs, and prepared estimates, proposals, and construction budgets. Along with my work experience as a project Engineer I also have experience working in the field as a superintendent. During my time as a superintendent I have managed many construction projects ranging from single family homes, city and county public works projects, new school projects. While managing these projects I have prepared and reviewed submittals, processed and managed RFI’s, ensured adherence to the construction budget and construction schedule, and ensured compliance with federal and state safety regulations as well as building codes. I have also managed a concrete crew and a masonry crew. While managing these concrete and Masonry crews I performed duties such as material procurement and adherence to labor, material, and equipment budgets.
Complementing my work experience are my studies at California State University, Fresno. In addition to studying the prescribed courses in my major field of construction management, I selected electives to help me in my career objective. And I believe I have succeeded. In spite of full-time employment through my time in college, I was awarded the Bachelor’s of Science degree in Construction Management in December 2004.
In addition, I have the personal qualities that would fit me well into your organization. I am self-motivated and enjoy working in a team environment. Through my experience I have learned how to work as both a team leader and a player while maintaining professional working relationships with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
My work experience and education have prepared me for a position with your company. So may I talk to you about working for your company? Please call me at 559-289-2363 or email me at e_rodriguez6207[at]yahoo.com to arrange an interview.
Sincerely,
Edwin Rodriguez
