* Responsible for the development of a GSM mobile phone application to incorporate unbreakable digital One-Time Pad (DOTP) encryption.
o Led team of software developers from separate disciplines; specialists in mobile phone architecture/software, and specialists in DOTP encryption and interfaces. Functionality was proven in pre-Alpha test vehicles.
o Led cross-functional team to define the desired ‘look and feel’ of the phone and develop the required User Interface; team members represented sales, marketing, IT, security, engineering, manufacturing and selected customers.
* Responsible for all operations at the Tacoma, WA facility. My demonstrated leadership in product management resulted in an increase in responsibilities to include management of all R&D, product development, production/manufacturing, QA/QC, IT and Security.
o Led internal team to define new encryption/decryption key management protocols for better security and higher manufacturing efficiency.

* Doubled sales of non-isolated controllers for 2 consecutive years by effective promotion and definition of leading edge products for the consumer marketplace.
* Increased sales of LNB Controllers for Satellite Set-Top Boxes from <$500k/quarter to more than $2M/quarter in 2½ years. Defined/developed industry’s first single and dual DiSEqC 2.0 Controllers which are still generating increasing sales.

Sr. Manager, Product Development (July 1995 – August 1998)
Led development of High Speed A/D and D/A Converters and Digital Signal Processing products, serving as the key technical leader for the projects. Worked with department managers and other project leaders, resolving technical and administrative issues to insure projects were properly defined and resourced to achieve success.
* Managed staff of 10 engineers designing high speed analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters and digital radio upconverters and downconverters, which accounted for $6M-$10M in annual revenues.
* Managed customer design centers for 6 customers with Intersil design tools, designing products both for their own use, and for offering to the external market.
* Developed schedules, program costs, product costs and business plans. Conducted meetings and project reviews, working with peers, subordinates, management and customers to resolve project issues.
Program Manager, Strategic Programs (July 1985 – July 1995)
Managed high reliability government support programs from development through delivery, of families of radiation hardened integrated circuits for the Trident II MK6 Guidance Computer program at Raytheon Systems Division and the Trident II D5 Rocket Motor Control program at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company.
* Responsible for negotiating Class 1 Baseline documents with Prime contractor and U.S. Navy, and for development of compliant products.
* Developed and negotiated annual procurement proposals.
* Provided full data disclosure and explanations for annual DCAA audits of each proposal.
* Full responsibility for all manufacturing, quality and reliability issues including direct CSI/GSI interface for all material review board (MRB) meetings.
* Prepared and presented detailed monthly program reviews held at customers’ facilities.
* Full P&L responsibility for entire program.
Section Head/Design Manager (July 1983 – July 1985)
Promoted from design engineer to Section Head, then Design Manager for the gate array/standard cell semicustom ASICs. Managed design engineers, mask designers, product engineers and test engineers with responsibility from development through production.
Design Engineer (July 1982 – July 1983)
First designer assigned to Harris Semiconductor’s first family of gate array and standard cell semi-custom ASICs. Responsibilities included not only the definition/generation of a functional macro cell library allowing both Harris designers and customer designers to develop products on the gate array/standard cell platform, but direct responsibility for designing initial product offerings.
Product Engineer (June 1976 – July 1982)
Supported radiation-hardened digital logic devices for various military programs including Trident I, Trident II, MX and Minuteman. Responsibilities included product development support through manufacturing release, yield enhancement, test program development, etc. During this time I was also responsible for the design of one of the EMUX interface circuits for the B-1B bomber, the Serial Digital Output Buffer.
