Over the past 17 years since graduating with a professional degree in architecture, Mr. Sabir has designed and managed healthcare, educational, & commercial office projects at major firms and has developed extensive technical knowledge and communication skills to lead teams on large and small projects from programming and design stages through developing construction documents and managing construction administration.
He currently serves as the Director of Healthcare at Abel Design Group in Houston, Texas. In 2008 his firm – FS Design Group was acquired by Abel Design Group for healthcare expertise and he joined the firm as a director. Current healthcare clients at Abel Design Group include Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, St. Luke’s and Tomball Regional Hospital. Commercial clients include American National Insurance, Inland America REIT, Transwestern, and other developers and property managers.
He served as principal of F.S. Group for 8 years and acquired a strong design and construction experience on a wide range of medical, dental, corporate and institutional projects. F S Group was a Design Build firm focusing on healthcare and residential town home design, construction and development. He developed an expertise in designing and building ground up medical & dental office buildings & ambulatory surgery centers. He designed clinics for every specialty from cardiology and dermatology to pediatrics, gastroenterology & urology. He also designed imaging centers with CT / PET Scan, MRI, X-Ray & Nuclear Camera facility. As well as EECP clinics laboratories and pharmacies. His experience also includes award winning corporate & retail interiors for clients such as Shipcom Wireless, Prime Communications, Apex Insurance Group, BioSilk Spa in the Houston Galleria amongst others.
Prior to FS Design in 1999 he was the lead project designer at Gensler Architects for the $100 Million Cy-Fair College Campus project. He first helped develop the overall campus master plan & then designed the Learning Resource Center (Library) building and the Allied Health & Live Sciences buildings.
In 1994 he was involved in the design of major institutional & master planning projects at RDLR Architects for 4 years. He worked on the Cotswold 2000 Project and the Metro Transit Streets Project in Downtown Houston & the University of Houston Downtown Master Plan and the Academic Building and the Student Services buildings (AIA & APA Awards).
In 1992 he began his professional career at the prestigious SOM in Los Angeles and interned with Richard Keating for two years. He was on the design team of the 22 story Hewlett Packard Headquarters and the 45 story Houston Lighting & Power Headquarters (now Reliant Energy). He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Houston, College of Architecture. And won the Howard Barnstone Award for the senior thesis at graduation for a mixed-use high-rise project.

Lead a team of 5 designers to prepare schematic design obtain client approvals and complete design development of 2 story Library & a 2 story Health Sciences & Laboratory building. Coordinate and communicate with consultants and the construction documents team.
1994 - 1998 Project Designer with RDLR Architects.
Projects include University of Houston Downtown Master Plan, Student Services Building and the Academic Building. Metro Downtown Streets and Cotswold 2000 Master Plan. And the 25 story Metro Headquarters Building and several community centers and small schools.
Responsibilities include sketching, schematic design, design development and construction documents. Worked under the direct supervision of project manager and project principal.
