I have experience thinking “outside of the box” having supervised support activities in Iraq. I have been through Management training for Fluor International and KBR for gov’t support in Iraq and Afghanistan in the construction and O & M field.
I have worked as a Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman on various commercial jobs averaging between 7 and 15 million contracts. I have run jobs on my own, under off-site supervisors as well as on-site supervisors. I enjoy managing from start to finish, planning and scheduling work/materials to ensure all schedules are met. I perform best under pressure.
I worked for remodeling chains as a remodel carpenter upon moving to Washington in July 2006 after 30 years in Alaska. My duties included job analysis, estimating, scheduling and materials planning. I worked alone under my employer’s license. I was also responsible for generating jobs - sales and follow-up. I am currently a union carpenter, working steadily for a variety of contractors. I am looking for one career to settle into.
I have experience as a maintenance engineer. Duties included general building and equipment maintenance, diagnostics and repair in all phases including but not limited to boilers, swim pools, steam equipment, whirlpools, light elec & plumbing, tile, carpentry, sheetrock, painting, concrete, exercise equip. Preventative maintenance was a priority and we worked independently on a job priority system.
My work history has required me to have excellent customer service skills as well as good organizational, analytical and planning skills. Honesty and Integrity are values that I hold dear. I am a dependable and loyal employee capable of working independently as well as being a team player.
I possess better than average computer skills, 10-key by touch, and learn quickly. I have had clerical experience, filling in temporarily and setting up spreadsheet routines for general accounting, payroll, inventory, and financials.
I am interested in this position as a means to contribute my skills in a meaningful manner. Given the opportunity to contribute, I know that you would find me to be a valuable asset and would appreciate my abilities and desire to further develop them. I look forward to talking with you more and hope this will turn out to be a mutually beneficial start to a long and productive relationship.
Sincerely
David Springer
