Administrator: With the rapid growth of Thor Construction, my duties changed in an effort to capitalize on individual strengths and talents. Became directly responsible for the creation, establishment and day-to-day operations of the administration of new business ventures of the Owner of Thor Construction. Created operational processes and procedures for all bookkeeping, (general ledger, financial statements, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, job costing, work in progress, cash flow projections, etc.) and administration (sales letter, close-outs/warranties, e-filing, archiving, telephone answering, customer service, meeting minutes, office supplies etc). Also continued to provide marketing support for Thor Construction, created brochures, reviewed/signed contracts, signed payment checks to vendors, updated certifications and business licenses, as well as support other functions required in the start-up and establishment new businesses.
General Manager: Responsible for all administrative aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Company. Head up the Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Department and the Company Safety Program. Train the project administrative support staff, create and enforce the company’s standard operating procedures. Work with the Owner in marketing and preparation of marketing materials. Entrusted with Power-of-Attorney for Owner of Thor Construction.
Office Manager/Controller/Executive Secretary: Responsible for all administrative aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Company, including production of company financial statements and work in progress. Worked in construction accounting software, Timberline, entering contracts, changes orders, estimates, vendor invoices, cash receipts, etc. Worked closely with project managers and field superintendents in maintaining accurate cost accounting. Kept the company meetings minutes, set up appointments for the owner, created weekly certified payroll reports, administered payroll and answered phones. Created standard operating procedures for the company using them to successfully train in new project administrators as the company grew.
