CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER EXPERIENCE
Project Manager, D.H. Griffin Construction Co., Raleigh, NC 2009-2010
Took over a school project that was months behind in processing documentation. Issued over150 Subcontractor Change Orders to get the work and job costs back on track. This project was completed 3 weeks early with a significant cost savings to the Owner.
Project Manager, Shelco, Inc., Charlotte, North Carolina 2003-2009
Led a diverse team of Subcontractors and Vendors to complete a complex multi-phase Research Laboratory project. At the Client’s request each of the 7 phases of the project were managed as a separate contract. By working closely with each Subcontractor this project was completed ahead of schedule while providing a cost savings to the Owner.
Provided the onsite supervision and project management needed to renovate an office building into a wound clinic. This project was completed on time despite several last minute changes required by the Fire Marshall. The Client received a 10% cost savings on a GMP contract.
Managed the renovation of existing office space into a research laboratory with a controlled environment. By working closely with the existing tenants and Subcontractors we minimized all interruptions to ongoing experiments. My company was selected as the General Contractor for all future work by this Client based upon our performance and the relationships that were developed.
Developed a ‘Change Order Proposal’ form that explained each cost component of the proposal in a manner that made it easy for the Client to understand. The form was adopted by the Client and became their standard ‘Change Order Proposal’ form for future work.
Project Manager, J.W. Grand Inc., Raleigh, North Carolina 2002-2003
Took over a troubled school project that was months behind schedule. By enforcing the terms of each Subcontractors contract and improving coordination among the trades the project was completed on time while restoring the Client’s faith in our company to work for them in the future.
