I am currently an Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE). My duties include maintaining 3 high rise buildings in downtown Providence and two in Downtown Boston for Bank of America. This includes:
Assist the Chief Engineer in directing the engineering department’s operations (provide technical and administrative support), preplanning of mechanical preventive maintenance, and supervise and direct maintenance personnel in installation, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. Assume the Chief Engineers’ responsibilities as necessary. The Assistant Chief Engineer must strive for the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the client’s needs, and a commitment to achieving the goal of 100% uptime within a Tier 3 or greater critical facility operations.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
â€¢ï€ Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift and monitor performance of assigned responsibilities. Perform and/or direct the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, insuring that work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition.
â€¢ï€ Develop and review Maintenance Critical Environment Work Authorizations (CEWAs) for
facilities and systems. Review and concur with Construction CEWAs for assigned systems.
â€¢ï€ Lead or directly operate and monitor critical and non-critical system equipment and components. Oversee CEWA work efforts (including 3rd party contractors) for safe and compliant operation, maintenance (corrective and preventive), and modification of critical equipment. Disable and enable fire alarm control panels and systems.
â€¢ï€ Provide training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures, recommending relevant outside engineering courses for enrollment and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
â€¢ï€ Supervise and implement a preventative maintenance program. Specific duties include but are not limited to: scheduling of preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services, performing and/or delegating preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance staff member, order parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and maintain inventory.

â€¢ï€ Direct the performance of contracted maintenance work as needed. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: insuring the timely performance of maintenance contract work, overseeing the fulfillment of equipment warranty obligations by the installer and securing equipment manuals and drawings from installers/contractors.

I managed about 50 apartments in the Federal hill/ Broadway area of Providence. This included collecting rents, electrical, plumbing and structural repairs. Marinating contracts with outside vendors as well for the client.

Write proposals and estimates for residential, commercial and industrial wiring then perform the work as required. I handled bookkeeping and advertisement as well as managing others. I specialized in all phases of electrical work from complete home theater design and installation to industrial process control including MCC and PLC operations and installation.
From 2002 to 2008 one large account of mine was for a large chemical facility in Providence. My work included installing 4 complete plc driven processes used in the manufacturing of certain chemicals. This work included designing and installing all of the electrical components, the plcs, reading and interpreting electrical as well as mechanical blueprints ( pfds and p&ids), supervising others and evntually managing the whole project. Also I designed and installed a laser perimeter around the facility and designed and installed a complete camera security system for the facility to meet the federal Homeland Security requirements. I have experience with PLC-5 and SLC-500 technology (installation, troubleshooting and some programming). I have designed and installed several 480 Volt 800 amp services as well as step down transformers in this chemical facility as well. In addition to this I have managed several of my own projects including building several houses from the ground up and project management on several job sites. I am a very ambitious person and work well under pressure and time constraints. I have excellent bookkeeping and record keeping skills.
