Senior Project Manager
James Stephens International Academy:
Secured a $17,000,000.00 contract with the Lee County Public School District for the renovation of an existing Middle School.
Complete HVAC renovation with the addition of a Chiller Plant with ice making capability. Renovated all classrooms and added one new classroom building.
Suffolk recruited me to head their Florida West Coast Educational Unit.
Due to the economic downturn, Suffolk decided to cut back its Sarasota office and as a result, I was laid off.
Please see the Letter of Recommendation from Suffolk (attached).
Mike Davis Elementary:
New construction of an 117,000 square foot project for the Collier County Public School District in Naples, Florida. This prototype elementary school was a tilt wall structural concrete building with a commercial chiller/ice plant HVAC system on two levels. Critical path 10 month fast tract project. The project value was $24,300,000.00 and was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Budget Contingency of $1.3 million was returned to the Owner.
Challenger Middle School & Patriot Elementary School:
This project for the Lee County Public School District was a $50,000,000.00 “Dual School†project located on one 30 acre site in Cape Coral, Florida. This project had separate Architectural and Structural firms for each school and required parallel coordination of all professionals and sub-contractors in order to make a 13 month deadline. The completed project was delivered ahead of schedule; below budget; NO budget increase change orders; and the return of ALL Owner Budget Contingency.
I was charged with total responsibility for the project from bid to buy-out; architectural and engineering coordination; pay applications, AIA G702 & 703 averaging $3,000,000.00 per month, and I conducted all Owners and Architects meetings.
In addition I was charged with reducing the Contract with Direct Material purchases by the School District, which amounted to over $11,000,000.00 and approximately $600,000.00 in sales tax savings for the District.
I generated all RFI’s and reviewed all submittals. I maintained extensive dialog and interaction with the two sets of Architects and Engineers and the School District Project Managers.
Challenger Middle School:
130,813 square feet of tilt wall construction on three levels. The building was re-designed to a Structural Steel frame just as the project began, due to the lack of availability of PSI Concrete Structural materials. The structural change was accomplished without added time to the schedule; or added money to accomplish the change. In addition to the main building, there is also a free standing 28,778 square foot gymnasium.
Patriot Elementary School:
123,257 square feet on two levels. Structural Steel Frame with tilt wall masonry construction. Both Challenger and Patriot have their own separate Chiller/Ice Plants.
