Summary
Through the past almost 30 years in the natural stone business I have accomplished many things and as I look back I still enjoy learning just as much today as when I started. The discovery of a new color or quarry still is like the first time. The design that captures the emotion in a granite memorial still grabs and holds me. The new or restored stone exterior of a local landmark somewhere in North America sitting in all of its glory for the community brings pride. All of these things I have been a part of for these years. Reference the September 2000 edition of Stone World magazine see the Union Station at Kansas City. MO project. As the owner of Stone Restoration Consultants we fabricated on-site, replaced, repaired and restored over 500,000 of interior stone vertical and horizontal. As the CEO of Sinostone a Chinese and European joint venture I managed multi-locations and designed and submitted the Traditional Series, a line of American standards or favorites once visible throughout the landscape of North America but with rising labor, transportation and overhead these Cemetery features were lost into the past. While a Sales Manager for Georgia Marble I was involved as one of the three salespersons to work with the Federal Government and produce with 170+ truckloads of White Cherokee Marble to clad the Federal Bank Building in Atlanta, Georgia. This is the largest Marble clad building in the southeast. I have submitted three patent-pending status for tools in the stone restoration field. I believe I was the first to provide a riding instrument that would allow the coupling of any type of stone restoration / sanding / machines and work combined to maximize floor coverage for commercial projects.
The phrase \"from the ground up \" applies to me and my career in this business.
Specialties:
My specialties seem to lie within the human side of the equation. I am best at negotiating, training, inspiration of the individual, forecasting, budgeting, sales and sales management, importing, public speaking within all aspects of the stone industry but all of these skills are transferable. With my solid foundation I have found it very useful as a General Manager to manage and operate these kinds of businesses. My import abilities lie within the Asian sector, China and India.
