Summary of Our Involvement
Working with the Design Manager as “Clientâ€, we provided technical contractor support. We reviewed technical documents including Request for Proposals, Design Progress Documents, Completed Design Documents, Working Drawings, Specifications, Submittals and related contract documents. We provided recommendations and suggestions to the Design Manager for improvements and verification of contract compliance, and provided a review of the contract documents for technical accuracy. We attended meetings at the project sites (on the roofs) with the Resident Officer In Charge of Construction, the Photovoltaic Contractor, the Roofing Contractor, the Roofing Manufacturer’s Representative, the Design Manager and other team members, to provide quality assurance inspections for project completion validation.
Working with the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division’s Engineering Technician as “Clientâ€, we provided technical contractor support. We provided technical assistance for roof troubleshooting by analyzing existing conditions (roof failure and leakage) during construction, and provided validation of defective work, and technical support for non-compliance issues. We provided recommendations and suggestions to the Engineering Technician for alternative corrective measures, reviewed the Contractor’s Submittals for Corrective Work, met with the team (including the Contractor) to resolve the items of concern, and provided assistance with logistical elements to assure project completion within budget constraints and on schedule.
