I would like an opportunity to use my Construction Management Degree to its fullest. After my twenty two years in the public sector as an inspector I would be able to bring the perspective and organizational skill of an inspector to projects large and small.
Most of my inspection experience has been in residential inspection until recently. In my position at Kittitas County for four years, I have preformed the inspections on the commercial improvements to the destination resort of Suncadia and throughout the county. The structures at Suncadia included the 380,000 square foot Lodge, The Spa, Suncadia & Tumble Creek Activity Centers and the Pro Shop at Tumble Creek, along with most of the residential structures. I also performed the inspections of the Trailhead condominiums in Suncadia, the Victoria Town Center in Cle Elum, and the new Central Washington University Flight Simulator, all of which are modular buildings.
I am very interested in giving back to my community and in green technologies. I serve as the Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity Building Committee Co-Chair and Site Supervisor, and I am the compliance officer for the Evergreen Sustainable Building Standard. Currently every Saturday is spent supervising 12 – 24 volunteers, some getting hands-on training as we go. I have also done residential and commercial Tenant Improvement and Pest/FHA Work Orders in my past work. I approach each type of inspection or project as a unique set of circumstances, am flexible and can learn quickly the requirements of specific settings or inspections, and look forward to new challenges in my career.
OBJECTIVE
I am looking for a stable position with the opportunity to use and expand my skills and experiences in construction, energy efficiency and community development.
Qualifications
I’ve been involved with construction in one form or another for most of my professional career. I have dealt with the construction process both as a private individual, general contractor, and as a professional building inspector and code enforcement officer. I have found that my photography training and work background with Federal Housing Authority and Pest Control Work orders has greatly helped me in that I am often able to see and explain to people the steps necessary to solve or resolve potential problems.
