My experience as a small business owner in the construction industry is natural progression to becoming a Construction manager or Construction Superintendent. I am very confident and experienced in all phases of construction. Managing people is a strong suit of mine. In education, I have managed people over the past 27 years.

Personal Statement
The list of my attributes that would make me a very productive employee are as follows:
* Two Bachelor of Science degrees
* Over twenty six years teaching in the High School setting. My accomplishments were many. The most endearing to me was the fact that my students built a 1700 sq/ft rambler each year.
* Over 26 years of coaching experience at the high school varsity sports level. Multiple section finals and two trips to the state tournament in football achieved.
* Own and operate a contractor services company for the past 14 years. Responsible for payroll, budgets, permits, planning, job work flow and many other aspects in the building industry.
Career Objective
I have made a decision to change my career path. After many years in education, I feel I will be better served to take my skills acquired over the years into the private work sector. Entry level management with advancement opportunities interests me the most. My biggest strength for a management position is my teaching and especially my coaching experience.
Work Experience
Owner (April 1999 - Present)
Stifter Construction LLC, 816 County Road 24 Watertown, MN 55388
Owner/Lead Contractor of a remodeling business. Time management was probably one of the most important skills to have when running a business like this. Coordinating permits, building materials and employees to be on the job site without workflow stoppage is very important to the success of any company. Estimating and staying on budget were also strong assets of mine with my company. Since I own the company I am its top salesman. I must sell the job to my clients. Important to emphasis upgrades.
Jobs always completed in a timely fashion.
Customer service appreciated by clients.
Projects are well planned and estimates are within very tight margins in this economy.
Constantly selling new projects to new clients. That\'s how this company survives.
Self motivated, I am my own boss. There are no time cards.
Hard worker, early riser. Grew up on a farm, carried into adulthood.
Teacher Industrial Tech/Mathematics (August 1999 - May 2010)
Watertown/Mayer High School, 1001Highway 25 South, Watertown, MN 55388
Taught high school tech classes to mainly Juniors and Seniors. Responsible for departmental budgets. Classroom management was crucial for success in teaching. I had great command of my classroom. Computer data entry is ongoing now in the classroom setting. I successfully taught a building construction class. I would have approximately 24 students per semester in the class. We would design and build a 1700 sq/ft. rambler on piers. The house would be completed all the way to flooring and kitchen cabinetry in one school year. This took great organizational skills as well as command of the students. Other classes I taught were:
Welding, Digital Photography, Graphic Communications, Wood Working, Algebra, Remedial math and Architectural Drafting.
