American Maritime Officers Union 1988 to Present
Joined AMO Union in August 1988 as a Third Assistant Engineer and progressively raised US Coast Guard License to Chief Engineer of Diesel and Gas Turbine of Unlimited Horsepower.
Maersk Line Limited – Chief / First Engineer (2004 to Present and 1988 to 1998)
Pacific Gulf Marine – Chief Engineer (1998 to 2004)
• Responsible to manage all aspects of 4300 container vessels on trips from the US East Coast to the Middle East.
• Management of six Licensed Engineers / Officers, 20 employee crew, $1MM+ maintenance / repair supplies inventory, and all engineering, maintenance, and preventative maintenance on seven week multi-port trips with compliance with DNV, USCG, and other regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for four 2,000 kw generators, 58K HP diesel engine, air compressors, hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, boiler, PLC (Mitsubishi and Allen-Bradley), mechanical and electrical systems.
• Orders all necessary supplies, oil and fuel.
• Develops specifications for capital upgrade projects and oversees five year upgrades at shipyards.
• International experience.
