Having survived and thrived as a design/build company executive as well as a design/construction engineer on large international projects, I know what it takes to keep an operation going and maintain a steady financial footing. If you need a Director of Project Management to get things done, I can deliver.
An entrepreneurial leader, I designed and managed diverse construction projects. Applying business re-engineering, cost containment and negotiations skills, I maintained project budgets, overcame roadblocks, and adapted quickly to market changes, quadrupling gross margin in six years.
Known as a keen businessman and analytical problem solver, I quickly recognized and capitalized on business opportunities. An effective communicator and skilled negotiator, I resolved difficulties through building trusting relationships and demonstrating strength of character and integrity.
When drought and a construction recession caused the number of projects to drop precipitously, I identified a new market, enabling the company to continue. I also streamlined operations, dramatically increasing profits.
My small business career and early experience designing sub-sea pipelines for international engineering firms is supplemented by a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. I am certified as a Professional Engineer (PE) in California/Washington, and am a licensed General Contractor in California.
If my talents in project management, operations, negotiations, business development, and vendor relations fit your current needs, please contact me. You may also view my resume at http://bradleysmith. resumeconnect.com.
