SELECTED CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
· Direct the EH&S/PSM and ISO 14001 aspects of the decontamination/dismantling and decommissioning of the 800,000 sq.ft. MEMC Electronics silicon wafer manufacturing facility in north Texas. Responsible for all EH&S production issues during downturn and the decontamination and through-the-roof removal of the transfer lines, storage tanks, and processing equipment in the building. Also responsible for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 compliance.
· Directed the safety/claims programs for Archer Western Contractors “Green Line†project, a $1.2 billion, light rail joint venture construction project in Dallas Tx. Responsible for zero accident plan, training matrix, direction of staff of 12. Project liaison with joint venture partners, broker, OCIP manager and local governments. Awarded company founder’s national EH&S, large project award for ’08 and ’09.
· Directed the transformation of the City of San Antonio’s EH&S program. Installed zero accident plan; Coordinated the cost allocation process driving EH&S practices to the departmental level. Trained 280 departmental safety coordinators, in risk identification, analysis, control and reporting. Process resulted in city’s first published safety program.
· Created, from inception, and directed the EH&S program of Certified Systems, Inc., a start-up employee leasing company that grew to 1,000 clients in 46 states with 20,000 employees. Wrote and coordinated installation of the safety and claim management programs of the company. Recruited, hired and trained staff of 22 and set/managed group’s operating budget and continuous improvement standards. Consistencies in program delivery produced EMR of 1/3rd of national average for the industry. Client industries included construction, roofing, road/bridge construction, manufacturing, warehousing, interstate trucking, oil exploration/servicing and longshoring.
