Other Responsibilities
â–ª Hire, develop, and oversee 75 management-level and unionized maintenance personnel. Negotiate contract updates and mediate contract disputes. Work with craft foremen and assistant managers to develop high performance teams through process improvements, effective listening, and encouraging discussion. Monitor and correct safety issues as they arise, work to get injured employees back to work as soon as practicable.
â–ª Review and monitor all Airport capital projects for potential impacts to maintenance operations and for compliance with FAA directives. Track monthly expenditures and expended man-hours. Projects include construction of a third runway, replacement of airport systems and ongoing buildings and grounds maintenance.
â–ª Key contributor to interdepartmental management team that instituted a new automated maintenance management system. The new system will allow the Maintenance Department to plan, program, monitor and evaluate trends for the entire preventive and corrective maintenance program.
