Finch Constructors, Inc. Project Manager 12/2007 – 02/2009
Until a slowdown in the construction industry, I presided over the design, installation and demolition processes for a $28 million project to equip several of Eli Lilly’s buildings in downtown Indianapolis with fire alarm systems. I oversaw the project activities related to scope definition, planning, budgeting, time estimating, scheduling, construction and implementation. Estimated and solidified proper staffing and resource levels. Organized and led several cross-functional project teams. Managed material procurement processes and negotiated contract terms, pricing and work to be performed with internal and external customers, suppliers, contractors, vendors and government agencies to meet established project objectives. Monitored day to day project construction and demolition progress and managed the work efforts and activities of contractors, vendors and construction personnel assigned to the project. Facilitated project status, change management and issues meetings with all stakeholders and implemented requested solutions. Conducted risk management and quality assurance exercises in addition to the development of contingency plans. Analyzed all project information such as “Lessons Learned†and submitted to the project database and formulated procedures for continuous process improvement. Reviewed all deliverables prior to turning completed buildings back into the control of the building owners and performed project close out activities. All building projects were completed earlier than expected completion dates and at lower costs because of documents and processes I developed which streamlined operations.

Verizon Wireless Retail Sales Manager 09/04 – 07/06
I successfully implemented “Store-Within-Store†concept by recruiting, staffing, training and coaching sales representatives to provide superior customer service while selling wireless telephones, service plans, accessories and features. I managed the day to day operations of four locations which involved directing merchandise planning and presentation activities, customer issue resolution and maintaining inventory control through regular cycle counts and tracking of merchandise through the POS system.
Reviewed P&L statements to identify areas of concern and made recommendations and implemented sales improvement plans. I achieved operational and financial objectives by proper forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning and scheduling until Circuit City closed all store locations and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Ameritech Sales and Project Management Positions 12/00 – 05/03
Applied project management principles of initiation, planning, implementation, controlling and closing to successfully manage the processing and installation of T1, T3, DSL and other data circuits for customers in Ameritech’s five state region. This involved communicating and coordinating with business owners, utilities, public safety organizations, sales and management and other stakeholders to install data communications lines without disruption of necessary services. As a result of the company merger, I was transferred to a sales position in which I sold Transactions Services in a five state territory. I received qualified leads and then upsold clients based upon business needs. After the sales channel was sold to an outside vendor, I became a Winback Sales Representative, where I used my client management and relationship building skills to convince business owners to return to Ameritech as their local and long distance telecommunications service provider. I later worked as liaison and trainer with distributors in order to make them profitable and improve their product knowledge.
