George & Lynch, Inc. (2003-2009) Project Manager/Estimator (Trenchless Tech)
• Multidiscipline responsibilities included solicitation, management, and completion of trenchless methodologies including Horizontal Directional Drilling, Guided Auger Boring, Pipe Bursting, Pipe Ramming and Micro Tunneling to install underground utilities (water, sewer, gas and electric) - $5-$7 million/yr
• Reviewed engineering plans, estimated and bid/quoted all trenchless jobs as General/Sub Contractor
• Procured materials, equipment and retained sub contractors. Scheduled crews, prepared progress reports, monitored contracts, produced change orders, invoiced and closed out contracts
• Prepared (RFIs) request for information both pre bid and during construction to maintain/clarify adherence to contract drawings and specifications
• Met with design engineers to evaluate the constructability and most efficient applicable trenchless methodology pre bid posting
• Worked with Project Engineers from (Hatch Mott MacDonald, Malcolm Pirnie, George, Miles and Buhr, Pennoni, Davis Bowen & Friedel, KCI Technologies and Skanska USA) on numerous utility construction projects
• Company liaison with Gov’t contracting officers at Dover AFB and McGuire AFB to insure compliance with all contractual obligations on major trenchless contracts completed directly for the US Air Force
• Compiled submittal packages on materials and equipment for Contracting Officer and Project Engineers ( manufacturer material specs/equipment & performance specs and MSDS data sheets)
• Applied for utility construction permits from on site base engineers at Dover AFB. Worked with project engineer to locate existing utilities in construction path and initiated sub surface (test pitting) investigation to determine size, elevation and possible conflicts
• Prepared (COR) change order request to baseline contract (estimated cost/schedule impact) for Contracting Officer/Owner
• Prepared daily/weekly progress reports including production goals, percentage of completion and long lead material requirements
• Submitted company safety plan and worked with Contracting Officer and Quality Assurance personnel to insure compliance with Gov’t/Civil safety regulations pre construction
• Scheduled crews for OSHA safety training (confined space/competent person) plus 10 hour basic course
• Managed three work crews and one million dollars in equipment
Atlantic Aviation (1974-2002) Contracts Administration Mgr/Regional Sales Mgr)
• Managed staff of eight, responsible for all contracts administration matters on major corporate aircraft completions for many Fortune 500 companies. Aircraft types included Gulfstream, Falcon Jet, Israel Industries Westwind and Bombardier Canadair Challenger.
• Responsible for Gov’t Flight Crew/Maintenance Contract on Gulfstream I aircraft operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS.
• Met with (COR) Contracting Officer Representative in Vicksburg and KO in Washington on a quarterly basis over five year contract period to facilitate the contract requirements regarding personnel, equipment, supplies, schedules, invoicing, airframe maintenance schedules and asset utilization
• Regional Sales Mgr with staff of four salesmen, responsible for promoting corporate aircraft services including airframe/power plant maintenance, avionics, structural repair, interior completions and exterior paint.
• Negotiated sales contracts with acquisition managers of major corporate airframe manufacturer (Dassault Falcon Jet) to complete green aircraft per customized specifications involving avionics flight deck, interior/exterior accoutrements
