• Directed the planning and construction of a gut-rehab project containing 42 loft condominiums and two newconstruction
condo projects containing 15 units with a combined construction cost of $10 million.
• Performing construction analysis, sub-contractor bidding and budget estimating for a $40 million combined
gut-rehab and new-construction condo/rental project containing 200 units and parking garage.

Responsible for all planning, design and construction activities, staff and consultants for the construction division of
Skyline Equities Realty, LLC, a comprehensive residential real estate acquisition and development company
specializing in the sales and marketing of new condominium and apartment construction. Skyline Equities Realty
was founded by the former co-chairman of American Invsco Corporation, one of the largest home-builders in
Chicago, with sales revenue over $300 million.
• Directed the planning and construction of the corporate headquarters offices of Skyline Equities Realty and the
construction of tenant improvements for 50,000 sf of commercial space at Lake Point Tower, owned and
managed by Skyline Equities Realty.
• Managed and directed the planning and construction of a $50 million historic restoration and conversion of a
30-story, 1930 Art Deco office building located in Chicago’s Loop into 293 rental apartments and retail space.
Also responsible for negotiating and obtaining City planned development approval, a $7 million TIF from the
City, the listing of the building in the National Register of Historic Places and $8 million in Historic Tax
Credits from the National Park Service.
• Performed ongoing evaluations of potential acquisitions of high-rise condominium projects, including new
construction and existing buildings for conversion.
CHICAGO URBAN PROPERTIES, INC. (A Division of Sundance Homes) 1996 - 1998
Vice President - Construction
Directed all planning and construction-related activities, staff and consultants involved in architecture, engineering
and construction for the City of Chicago division of this $130 million/year, publicly-traded home builder, with
projects in Bucktown, River North, Lakeview, the West Loop and South Loop.
• Evaluated potential acquisitions and performed feasibility studies, estimates and pro formas.
• Managed all production personnel including field, estimating, purchasing, customer service, decor and
administration staff.
• Responsible for the planning, construction and closing of 645 lofts, condominiums and townhomes with a
combined construction cost of $82 million. Projects ranged from 48 to 130 units and $5 to $23 million.

Directed the planning and construction activities of this Chicago real estate development and construction firm, with
projects in the South Loop, Printer’s Row, River North and Evanston.
• Responsible for estimating, bidding and negotiating subcontracts, hiring and supervising field personnel,
scheduling, cost control and overall project management.
• Instrumental in the acquisition, conceptual planning and pro forma analysis of new projects.
• Managed the construction of 400 loft condominium units in five renovated buildings with a combined
construction cost of $35 million, ranging from $4 to $15 million.
• Closed units at an average rate of 20 homes per month at each project.

Managed and directed all activities of this real estate development and home building firm, engaged in land
acquisition and sales, land planning, zoning, architecture and new home construction, marketing and sales in the
western suburbs.
• Acquired, planned, re-zoned and sold three properties valued at $5 million.
• Developed and managed the construction, marketing and sales of a 54-unit townhome project with a sales value
of $14 million. The project won 3 Gold Key Awards for 1992 from the Home Builder’s Association of Greater
Chicago for best townhome development.

Principal / Vice President - Development, 1984 - 1987
Lead principal responsible for acquiring properties, planning new projects and overseeing their implementation for
this vertically-integrated real estate development and construction company. Subsidiaries included AHW
Construction Management, AHW Architects & Engineers and AHW Property Management.
• Located sites, negotiated purchase contracts, obtained municipal zoning approvals and permits, performed
conceptual planning and design, market studies, pro formas and overall development management.
• Developed two 500-unit apartment projects with a combined construction cost of $63 million, utilizing
municipal revenue bond financing. Both projects achieved 95% occupancy well ahead of schedule, averaging
over 30 units leased per month.
• Developed the first phase of a 1,200-lot manufactured housing subdivision near Houston, Texas valued at $70
million. Set up and directed the entire operation and supervised the construction of all land improvements,
clubhouse facilities and amenities for 300 lots.
Managing Partner, 1978 - 1984 (AHW Architects & Engineers)
Directed the overall operation of the architectural/engineering subsidiary, including new business development,
client and zoning presentations, feasibility studies, conceptual planning, architectural design and supervision of
construction documents.
• Under my direction, the firm implemented 20 projects with a combined construction cost of $111 million,
including 8 apartment/condominium projects (1,335 units), 3 shopping centers (134,000 sf), 4 office buildings
(136,000 sf), 4 single-family subdivisions (910 lots) and a mobile home park (700 lots).
• Managed all financial aspects of the firm, including payroll, financial statements and tax reporting.

Managed the design, planning, engineering and construction of single-family subdivisions, apartment complexes
and office buildings for this design/build firm, which evolved into the AHW Companies.
