I am a seasoned Environmental, Health & Safety Professional with more than 20 years of experience. I began as a Site Health and Safety Officer on large construction projects, moved into the industrial sector as EH&S Manager for several companies, then returned to the construction field as a EH&S Director for Mar-Land Industrial Contractors, a mechanical, civil and electrical contractor with eight (8) projects running at the same time and over 1,600 employees.
I am experienced trainer in numerous OSHA and EHS topics and had received the OSHA 500 and 501 trainings making me an Authorized Outreach Trainer for the 10 and 30-hour courses in Construction and General Industry Safety and Health.
My areas of expertise range from developing and implementing corporate and site-specific Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, managing teams of Safety Professionals, Site Security, Hazardous Waste handling training and Corporate Safety Process Management. As an ES&H Training Manager I am supervising a staff of occupational and environmental Instructors to assure that all those employed at the Holcim Ste.Genevieve project in Bloomsdale Missouri have received the required and mandatory training. The MSHA 4 hour Site Specific Safety Orientation along with the 10 and 30 hour Construction Industry courses to comply with MSHA and OSHA. We offer Additional advanced classes as well to meet our clients needs and expectations. More than 6,000 people of all occupations have passed through our Training Center in order to work on this project. We have worked more than 3,000,000 man hours without a lost time accident.

Mar-Land is a large mechanical, civil and electrical contractor that specializes in vertical construction, facility expansions and facility renovations, mostly within the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries. They employ nearly 600 people and utilize multiple subcontractors on their numerous projects across Puerto Rico. As Mar-Land’s Corporate Safety Director, I have had accomplishments and responsibilities include the following:
 Developed Mar-land’s Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Manual and managed overall program for the company.
 Prepare Site Specific Health and Safety Plans to meet client and property owner safety specifications.
 Established Mar-land’s policy of having a dedicated Site Health and Safety Officer on every project.
 Manage team of SHSO’s and ensure Site HASAP’s are being properly implemented by periodically and systematically visiting each project, auditing the site and addressing challenges as they arose.
 Attend safety meetings and regularly interact with clients and property owners to ensure everyone’s satisfaction with safety performance.
 Maintain knowledge of MSHA regulations.
 Continuously evaluate and update Mar-land’s overall safety effort and identify ways to improve its effectiveness.
In a joint venture with Torcon, Inc. got the VPP OSHA AWARD for the 1rst. Construction Project in Puerto Rico.
