EXPERIENCE PROFILE
Mr. Johnson has over 24 years of experience managing design and construction of transportation projects valued at over $1.7 billion throughout the United States. He has also successfully prepared proposals and statements of qualifications for design build projects valued at over $900 million. His experience includes program management, construction management and design of interstate and arterial roadways, and airport runways and taxiways. He is also experienced in Public Private Partnerships, the NEPA process, and project scheduling.

Mr. Johnson is the Design Manager for the City of Atlanta’s $250 Million Quality of Life Program. The Quality of Life Bond Program provides community improvements throughout the City including sidewalk and streetscape improvements, development of public plazas and greenspace, and improvements to streets, bridges and viaducts, and traffic control devices. As the design manager for the program, Mr. Johnson is responsible for tracking and managing the program’s federally funded projects. This requires coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Atlanta Regional Commission, as well as the City’s Bureau of Planning, and Department of Parks and Cultural Affairs. Mr. Johnson also was responsible for coordination with the Norfolk Southern and CSX Railroads on several bridge projects.

Overall the project contains twenty-one bridges to be constructed or reconstructed, temporary bridges and pedestrian bridges.

Responsible for the Unsolicited Proposal for this $300 Million Public Private Partnership Project in Denver, Colorado. The Proposal submitted and selected proposing to develop, finance, design, and construct express lanes along C-470, between I-25 and US 6. The project consists of constructing four express lanes on C-470. The project will be a completely electronic state-of-the-art toll facility with the toll revenue used as repayment for non-recourse, tax-exempt bond financing.

Responsible for design, right-of-way and construction oversight for the proposed Fifth Parallel Runway at the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. The Fifth Runway is a $900 million project with subprojects including power substation relocations, roadway relocations, earthwork supply and delivery, site preparation, airfield and taxiway structures over I-285, non-licensed vehicle road construction, and wetlands mitigation.
