I hold a Bachlor of Science Degree, with a concentration in Accounting and a Data Processing Minor, from Shepherd College in 1985. I have been working in the construction industry for the past 30 years, with 6 years of experience working in the field and 24 years as an accountant. I have held positions with a wide range of responsibilities from an Accounting Manager for the 3rd largest Electrical Contractor in the U.S. to the CFO for a Large General Contractor in Hagerstown Maryland. I, also, have worked with companies that performed public contract work (DOD, GSA, etc.) and I have working knowledge of FAR’s and security clearance requirements.
My Responsibilities as CFO/Controller:
To establish, direct, coordinate and administers a plan for the control of financial accounting operations. Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounting operations for the Company, with particular attention to human resources, cash management, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and job cost accounting. Reviews, analyzes and interprets all financial and budgetary reports for management to ensure timely and effective decision-making. Establishes major accounting objectives or policies for the organization. Analyzes project cost with operations as to insure accurate financial reporting. Responsible for managing the Corporations Insurance Programs, (General Liability, Property and Worker’s Comp., Human Resources – Health Insurance, Life, Dental, other employee insurances), including Co-Chairman of the Safety Committee that manages the overall Risk Management for the Company. Responsible for managing all the companies IT issues, which includes hiring IT net work consultants, purchasing of IT equipment/software and the daily management of company’s net work.
