Designed and implemented new impact resistant window and patio door products. New window design projects included an aluminum impact Casement, aluminum impact Single Hung, aluminum impact Slider, aluminum impact Picture window, and aluminum impact Geometric window. Also several vinyl window improvement projects and re-certification of existing products. I worked with several equipment suppliers to implement product changes in the manufacturing facility. I was the project manager of multi-functional teams for new product introductions and product improvement projects. I also supervised, coached, and mentored several staff engineers.

Designed and implemented new window and patio door products. Product design responsibilities included a redesign of the casement window, design of hurricane resistant windows, several cost reduction projects, and re-certification of existing products. I worked with several equipment suppliers to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing facility. I was the project manager for multi-functional product introduction teams.

Designed and implemented new window, skylight, and patio door products. Our design team also had design responsibility for Weathershield, Peachtree, Great Lakes, and Kenergy product lines. Product design responsibilities included a new skylight product line, several new geometric window product lines (aluminum clad and vinyl), new aluminum clad out-swing patio door, new vinyl casement, new vinyl patio door, and several product improvement projects. I worked with various suppliers to improve their products to meet our performance requirements. I was the project manager for multi-functional product introduction teams. I also supervised, coached, and mentored several product designers.

Product Design Engineer
Elco Industries, Corporate Synergy Group, Rockford, IL
Elco Industries primarily manufactured stamped, molded, and headed components for the automotive industry. My responsibility as a Corporate Synergy Engineer was to design product assemblies that utilized several of Elco’s manufacturing facilities. Elco received a patent for a GM headlamp mounting and adjusting system that I designed, prototyped, and tested.

I designed and implemented new hardware assemblies that utilized in-house capabilities for stamping, die casting, injection molding, heading, automated assembly, and plating. The product line consisted of a variety of window and cabinet hardware. Several patents were issued to the company for products that I designed, tested, and implemented.
