Vice President – Facilities & Portfolio Management (2007 – 2009)
Responsible for managing entire corporate campus totaling more then 500,000 square feet of space and an additional 650 branch offices totaling more then 1.5 million square feet; with responsibility for lease/rent negotiations, property management, space planning, construction, branch standards, furniture, and IT infrastructure build-outs.
• Created strategic real estate plans in collaboration with executive management for Kelly’s 400+ branches in 17 countries across Europe. The plans identified effective market locations, demographic trends, over and under serviced markets, location of competitors, and lease cost savings opportunities. In addition, implemented a lease management system that kept Kelly from missing critical lease dates.
• Right sized the office space portfolio across the Americans saving millions of dollars by negotiating mid-term lease buyouts, rent reductions, and space reductions.
• Achieved EnergyStar rating by conducting analysis of building equipment, upgrading and fine-tuning poorly performing components, and implemented new cost saving practices resulting in reduced energy consumption.
• Consolidated and relocated Kelly’s United Kingdom headquarters saving the company over $4.25 million.
• Implemented several Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects to improve the corporate campus facilities and was a founding member of Kelly’s sustainability program called “Recognize†to promote greening of the environment.
Senior Director – Field Facilities (2002 – 2007)
Managed staff of leaders and support personnel responsible for the leasing, design, construction, project management, telecom, property management, and billing/audit activities of the Kelly North American branch network of over 850 locations, totaling 1.9 million square feet of space. Responsible for development of the North American strategic real estate plan covering $38 million in annual rent payments, $10 million annual capital improvements, and $1.8 million annual department budget. Also responsible for branch portfolio in Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
• Responsible for 220 lease transactions and 130 +/- construction projects annually, and the implementation of the branch voice and data infrastructure.
• Built powerful teams of individuals who habitually exceeded customer expectations throughout the global organization.
Director of Leasing – Field Facilities (2001 – 2002)
Led the formation of the Field Facilities Department by joining the individual groups of Leasing, Design, Telecom, and Project Management together to form one department to better provide service to Kelly field based employees.
• Initiated cross training and created repeatable processes that decreased average days needed to open a new branch office by 34%.
• Created a Billing/Audit Team to audit and pay the voice and data bills for Kelly’s US and Canadian branches saving more than $1 million in costs tied to incorrect billings.
• Implemented a lease tracking and rent payment system which became the cornerstone allowing for increased reporting capabilities upon which to base sound portfolio management planning.
Director - Customer Support (1997 – 2001)
Provided leadership for six managers and 100+/- staff members in a new position responsible for management of multiple IT groups including first level and second level help desk support, desktop projects, security, and the customer support center. Led the creation and implementation of the Oracle support process for North America.
Operational Manager – Hotline Services (1995 – 1997)
Responsible for managing the activities of a 40-person inbound/outbound Call Center resolving questions/concerns on software, hardware, network support, and temporary order placement from Kelly temporary employees on assignment, branch personnel, and corporate users. Accountable for a $1.7 million budget and the quality management of over 216,000 calls annually.
