BP AMOCO, Houston, Texas 1978 to 2000
Facilities and Services - Supervisor Special Projects, (1997-2000)
Managed Special Projects and performed Project Management relevant to design and construction, information technology, contractor management, space planning, furniture and office moves for a 1,300,000SF campus and a population of over 3000.
• Researched, designed and developed a $1,500,000.00 construction budget for the construction of (2) unique 3D submersion visualization theaters, exceeding customer’s requirements, reducing potential downtime losses by $300,000.00 daily.
• Remodeled North American Gas Marketing space to allow addition of 100 employees within existing floor space, developed and managed $425,000.00 construction budget, and negotiated utilization of furniture acquired from previous sublease, mitigating acquisition of $400,000.00 in new furniture.
• Assumed responsibilities to complete ongoing 1998/1999 post merger restack. Completed movement of personnel and equipment, remodeling, and building closures on time and $4,000,000.00 under budget. Project included design and build out of new $2,000,000.00 Gas Trading Floor.
• Project Manager for Texas City Refinery and Chemicals’ acquisition of an Electronic Data Management system. Negotiated vendor contract, secured necessary Information Technology support, supervised implementation, and created a Regional Product User’s Group to promote Knowledge Management.
Supervisor Drafting Services, (1983-1997)
Supervised the Production Drafting Department and performed Special Projects as assigned by management. Department functioned as an independent business delivering Design Drafting Services in a myriad of technical disciplines,
• Researched, evaluated, recommended, negotiated, purchased and deployed computing hardware and software for all supported organizations.
• Chaired several in house user’s groups and communities of interest, traveled to participate in many domestic and international user’s groups disseminating knowledge learned.
