I was responsible for manufacturing engineering documentation for ISO9002 certification (registered August 1998). Developed multiphase facility rearrangements for value stream improvements

Robertshaw-Tennessee, Algood, TN. Robertshaw -Tennessee manufactures OEM and aftermarket automotive thermostats and related products. Robertshaw has annual sales of approximately $120 Million.
- Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, worked on a cross functional team and later was ask to manage manufacturing and operations personnel to develop and introduce a new family of products and processes (automotive thermostats).
- I selected, trained, and managed the new plant lines for more than 6 months after production release and targeted goals had been reached and maintained.
Reason for leaving: Company closing facility and moving it to Mexico. I was recruited away before closure.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer/Lean Manufacturing Coordinator, July 1988 to July 1991
DeZurik, A Unit of General Signal, McMinnville, TN. DeZurik produces industrial valves for chemical, pulp & paper, and water handling applications. Equipment included plasma cutters, machining, welding, Drills, Mills, Turning Centers, tooling, fixtures, and stamping and forming dies.
- Developed and led implementation of Kanban systems, and JIT continuous flow processes and work-cells.
- Re-engineered the plant layout for reduced lead-times, reduced inventories, and improved quality.
- Reduced standard product lead times from 3-4 weeks to 24 hours while reducing finished goods inventories by 40%.

Dennison Carters Inc., Crossville, TN. Recruited to lead the plant in a re-Engineering effort to revamp a traditional facility into a World Class/JIT facility. Dennison Carters manufactures consumer writing instruments. Processes included plastic injection molding, ink making, high speed and high volume assembly, sonic welding, decorating, and packaging, and distribution of consumer writing instruments.
- Reduced quality defects by 97%
- Reduced lead times from 3-4 weeks to 2-3 days
- Re-engineered engineering documentation for paperwork elimination and mistake proofing.
