Toscano Condominiums, Miami, Florida
Currently providing senior level on-site management for this 989,000 square-foot, mixed use condominium development. The project consists of a 27 story tower, flanked by a five story building to the north, and a seven story building to the south. A sub-grade parking garage provides parking for the retail spaces, with an additional 3 floors of parking underneath the tower for residential use. The project includes 396 housing units, with fifty-seven various floor plans ranging in size from 687 square-feet to 2,500 square-feet, and over 50,000 square-feet of retail space. It also includes a 25,000 square-foot recreational deck with heated pool, fitness center, exercise studio, and a meditation garden. Project Cost - $110 million.
Gulfstream Park Clubhouse/ Grandstand, Hallandale Beach, Florida
Senior level project manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of a design-build “Racino†in South, Florida. The project included eight new barns, three new 4-story dormitories, mechanics and other ancillary buildings, and a 300,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Clubhouse/Grandstand. The Clubhouse construction consisted of 452 auger cast concrete piling, with a structure consisting of a precast composite cast-in-place concrete system. The building interior and layout is based on the Paris Casino in Las Vegas, with four themed bar and gaming areas, simulcast bar and stage area, main dining area, and all associated back-of-house areas. In addition, the third level consisted of 22 luxury boxes with a separate kitchen and bar service area, while the fourth level was comprised of administrative offices and building utilities. Project Cost - $85 million.
Sheraton New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana
Provided on-site project management for the complete renovation of all guest rooms and corridors for this 1104 room hotel in downtown New Orleans. Project scope included removal and liquidation of all existing furniture and finishes for all typical guest rooms, 270 “Club Level†guest rooms, 55 suites, two “Presidential†suites, and the “Club Loungeâ€, spread out over 40 floors of a 49-story building. The project scope included new textured wall finish applied to all existing guest room walls, painting of all doors, frames, louvers, and shutters, new ceramic tile floors in typical bathrooms and marble tile floors and tub surrounds in “Club Level†rooms and suites, new granite counter tops in all “Club Level†bathrooms and suite bars, new lavatories and faucets in all rooms, new room carpet, vinyl wall covering, new light valances and carpet in all corridors, new wood base, chairrail, crown moulding, and wall sconces on “Club Levelsâ€, and receiving, storage, transport, and installation of new F.F. & E. in all guest rooms and suites. All work was completed while the hotel remained in full operation, with two completed guest room floors turned over every other week.
Woolfolk Building, Tenant Improvement Package 2, Jackson, Mississippi
Provided on-site management and coordination for this 330,000 square-foot interior finish-out. This building houses the Governor’s office, as well as all legislative and senate budget offices. Primary responsibilities included coordination of all mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and finishes for twelve stories of this building. In addition, negotiation of all subcontracts and purchase orders, preparation of monthly applications for payment and bi-weekly schedule updates, submission and tracking of all submittals and shop drawings, coordination of move-in phases with State officials, and the successful negotiation of over $2.3 million in change orders.
Yazoo City Federal Correctional Institution, Yazoo City, Mississippi
On-site senior project manager for this 646,000 square-foot, design-build medium- security federal correctional facility. In addition to all MEP trades, coordination included the installation, testing, and commissioning of all detention hollow metal, hardware, and accessories, food service and laundry equipment, and security electronics and communication equipment. Worked closely with Federal Bureau of Prison representatives on a daily basis, ensuring the work was completed per the contract and to government standards. Other responsibilities included negotiation of subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, job cost tracking, and submittal review, as well as the negotiation of several replacement Subcontracts to take over sub-standard and bankrupt subcontractors. The latter yielded a net profit as a result, with an positive effect on the overall project completion schedule. Project Cost - $95 million.
Sheraton Biscayne Bay, Miami, Florida
Provided on-site project management for the complete interior renovation to a 600-room hotel in downtown Miami for Interstate Hotels Corporation. Project scope included removal of all existing furniture and finishes from each guest room and corridor, application of new textured wall finish on all walls, new ceramic tile floors and tub surrounds in all guest bathrooms, new GFI outlets, new vanity tops and lavatories, new carpet, new corridor valences and lighting, installation of new fire protection system, and coordination and installation of all new furniture, fixtures, and equipment. All work was scheduled to allow the hotel to remain in operation throughout the duration of the project by completing each floor (41 rooms) within a ten day cycle.

Responsible for coordination and implementation of all contract documents for Mississippi’s only land-based casino located on the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Worked with Boyd Gaming Corporation representatives in the preparation and construction of interior design plans, including all ceilings, furr-downs, millwork, lighting, and waterfall, as well as gaming, surveillance, theatrical, food service, mechanical, and electrical plans. Project included a 8-story 200-room hotel, gaming area, three video poker bars, two restaurants, buffet restaurant, performing stage, bingo hall, and employee facilities. Project Cost - $34 million.

Responsible for coordination and interpretation of all consulting engineers’ plans and specifications, including naval architecture, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, theatrical, food service, interior design, lighting, and gaming plans for Mississippi’s premier riverboat casino. Acted as liaison in all dealings between the owner’s representatives, consultants, and subcontractors in the completion of the project, which included two gaming levels, three restaurants, two video poker bars, performing stage and bar, dinner theater and bar, and all back-of-house areas.

Parish Hall, Chapel of the Cross, Madison, MS
Worked with parish Architect and building committee in developing the design, budget, and finishes for the construction of a new building located on the grounds of one of Mississippi’s oldest masonry church buildings. The 5,000 square foot building was constructed utilizing wood frame construction and old brick veneer matching the existing finish of the historic Chapel.
Millard Refrigerated Services, Inc., Richland, MS
Complete structural concrete foundation work for 250,000 square foot cold storage facility. Devised methods to continue work in adverse weather conditions completing the project two weeks ahead of schedule.

Responsible for the creation of the master plan, site design, working drawings, and construction of several high-tech oil change facilities in the Jackson Metropolitan area.

Design/build of a post modern art gallery in Northeast Jackson. Responsible for all design, presentations to owner, site development, working drawings, and construction management of upscale gallery, frame shop, and corporate office facility.
Baptist Medical Arts Building, Jackson, MS
Construction of a 7-story medical office building in Downtown Jackson. Project included steel structure with masonry infill, and all interior finish-out.
400 East Capitol Restaurant, Jackson, MS
Interior renovation/ finish-out of restaurant space, located in a certified historic building in the downtown business district. Included complete construction of kitchen, restaurant, and bar area for one of Jackson’s finest restaurants. Coordinated all work associated with owner’s interior designers and lighting consultants.

Researched and qualified over 75 properties included on the National Register of Historic Places. Traveled throughout the state to review existing nominations, verify all contained sources at local courthouses and libraries, conduct oral interviews, and photograph properties for documentation purposes.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
Design Assistant to Dr. Charles F. Moore, FAIA, Austin, Texas
Designed and developed concept for a city park in downtown Taylor, Texas, as an independent graduate student project under the supervision and guidance of a world renowned architect. Work included complete design development, writing of specifications, preparation of bid documents, negotiations with City officials, construction management, and job inspection. Developed fund raising package which involved the sale of park fixtures as memorials to area businesses, civic organizations, and individuals, raising over $40,000. Additional work included research and reconstruction of an historic bandstand as the focal point of the community park. This park became the Sesquicentennial project of the City of Taylor.
Retained by advertising firm to produce detailed line drawings of nine historic buildings in downtown Taylor, Texas, for their use in an advertising campaign for TaylorBanc Savings. This set of drawings was reproduced for limited addition prints, posters, and coloring contest, and used extensively by the advertising firm and the local downtown revitalization effort.
Historic American Building Survey, University of Texas, Austin, Texas
Supervised five-member team in researching, documenting, measuring, and recording a commercial block of buildings located in downtown Taylor, Texas. From this field work, the survey team produced a permanent set of record line drawings which have been included in the Library of Congress, Washington, DC.
