George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston Texas: Project Manager for the APM Maintenance and Storage facility. Tom was specifically requested to manage the Terminal D renovation/alteration including construction of two bridges over an operating ticketing lobby by City of Houston Officials. I completed this project three weeks ahead of a 13 month schedule and 16% under budget. This Project was in an active terminal that could not be closed. All construction was accomplished at night and required interfacing with the client during day. Selected as Project Manager of Year 2004 finalist for the Terminal D remodel project. The Terminal D project won the National Associated General Contractors (AGC) in the Building Renovation category.
Military Airfields: I served in many capacities in my Naval career on several Naval Air Stations (NAS) including NAS Glenview, NAS Bermuda, NAS Dallas and Naval Station Guantanamo and was responsible for all maintenance and repairs to the runways, taxiways and aprons. Including repaving NAS Bermuda, a shared runway with the Bermuda Government. My finial assignment as the Operations Chief (Horizontal) for the Atlantic Command required oversight of over 2100 pieces of construction equipment.

Intermodal project office of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (FWTA), Fort Worth, Texas: Project Manager of the Railtran Commuter Rail project that connects the central business districts of Fort Worth and Dallas. As the construction project manager, his responsibilities included the Intermodal Transportation Center and the Texas and Pacific station and tunnel. I was requested by the Program Manager to assume the position as the construction project manager for these projects. Bringing leadership and technical coordinating abilities to the program. The Texas and Pacific station and tunnel required coordinating with the Union and Pacific railroad and the Fort Worth Historical committee.

Computerized Storage and Transportation System (TMS): At the request of USPS Engineering Project Manager, I was the Construction Manager and Owner’s representative with complete responsibility for construction observation, inspection, documentation, and contract administration on seven projects located in five states. These projects represented $100 million of of a $5 billion construction program. I supervised a resident program manager and two resident engineers. All work was performed without disruption to ongoing mail processing. The USPS project manager requested that I assume the responsibilities of USPS Test Director for all Lockheed Martin sites (15), including maintenance access and safety inspection responsibilities.
USPS, Various Facilities, Texas and Arkansas: construction manager and owner’s representative for a 35,000-square-foot (3,250-square-meter), $3.5 million administration office building in San Antonio, Texas; and a 45,000-square-foot (4,180-square-meter) facility in Fayetteville, Ark. At the request of the USPS Project Manager, I assumed the duties of Construction Manager on both the $4.7 million demolition and expansion of the Corpus Christi, Texas Processing and Distribution Center; and the 73,000-square-foot (6,780-square-meter), $5 million Processing and Distribution Annex in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I had complete responsibility for construction observation, inspection, and cost estimating, documentation, and contract administration of these facilities with a total construction value of $13.5 million. I also had complete responsibility for construction observation and review at 30, 70, and 100-percent drawings and specifications for compliance with conceptual drawings.

ICM Ethanol Plant, Council Bluff, Iowa. Construction Manager for a 110 Million gallon, ethanol plant with a construction value of $140 million. On this CM At-Risk project I represented the General Contractor/Developer of the distilling process. I managed all phases of construction, documented time and material costs, maintained quality and cost control and, scheduled and coordinated all craft subcontractors including concrete placement/finishing, on site tank construction, process piping, steel erectors, electricians, etc.
