Personal Experience
Space Planner with Genentech responsible for Allocation Process for ~6 MSF South San Francisco complex. Developed automated restacking plan for 16 floor building. Primary interface with Tactical Space Planners. Governance committee (Under $5M projects).
Lead University of California, Riverside committee in developing Detailed Project Program for 58,140 GSF, 37,380 ASF, $19,380,000 Student Academic Support Services Building. Wrote Project Planning Guide.
Lead facilities planner from the time Amdahl joined the Fortune 500 through its growth to Fortune 200 status. Responsibilities ranged from developing strategic plans to hands on implementation of plans.
Primary responsibility for Long Range Facilities Business Plan. Deliverables included capital and expense projections. Plans varied year-to-year with overall scope of over $100M capital and over $80M expense.
Conducted multiple national searches for optimum metropolitan location for a one million square foot campus on 100 acres to house 3,000 employees. Analysis included math model, financial analysis, and comparisons.
Responsible for developing a facilities plan in support of the acquisition of an 800 thousand square foot campus in San Jose at a cost of $37M. Site could house 2,500 employees in existing and proposed facilities.
Provided planning support over nine year period to adjust Amdahl’s headquarters complex to changing business conditions. Work resulted in a reduction of 1.2 million square feet and an expense reduction of $60M.
Responsible for Quarterly Facilities Operational Plans. Plans communicated a common understanding of schedule, cost and requirements to management and staff. Operational plans were integral part of budgeting.
