Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing applicable analyses within the nuclear, radiological, criticality, reactivity control, thermal-hydraulic stability analysis, and safety analysis engineering function of the nuclear analysis center of excellence to support all business units within GEH including fuel, services, and new plants. Perform monte carlo analyses for criticality safety and shielding, spent fuel pool, optimization of Fuel burnup and storage, reactivity insertion accident analyses such as control rod drive accident analyses, control blade depletion, dose, atmospheric dispersion, and decay heat analyses, plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses supporting existing and new BWR, ABWR, ESBWR, PRISM, and advanced reactor type applications. Develop enhanced deterministic fluence methodology to support analyses of reactor vessel integrity and reactor vessel internals functionality especially for Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) fuel license amendment and plant life extension. Maintain nuclear codes with the fortran/C/C# Software language. Develop learning materials and train engineers in nuclear reactor physics, flux calculations, and fuel cycle economics. Communicate and coordinate activities with project managers, technical personnel, and customers on engineering issues. Maintain baseline project schedule and cost in delivery of nuclear fuel engineering deliverables. Prepare, document, and present technical data to customers. Ensure all work is in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures. Use six sigma and lean principles to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. Develop software applications to support process improvements to drive speed, simplification, and escaping defect reduction using VBA, excel, and word automation/templates.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The position requires a Masters degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Nuclear Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in a related occupation. 1 year of experience in Radiological Engineering, including criticality, shielding, dose, and fluence. 1 year of experience in Nuclear Engineering, including MCNP analyses, reactivity control, thermal-hydraulics, and safety analysis. 1 year of experience with BWR technology. 2 years of experience in training on nuclear reactor design and safety. 2 years of experience in software development in C OR C#. 2 years of experience in software development in FORTRAN77 and FORTRAN90. 2 years of experience working with thermal-hydraulics systems CODE RELAP, TRACE OR TRACG.
